I’ve confirmed I have the same Sonos version and build that you do.
#SONOS SOFTWARE UPDATE SUCKS UPDATE#
I recognized it was a significant update because it took much longer than previous updates. With my limited tech knowledge, I’m convinced the Sonos update triggered the problem. The difference between streaming Spotify and high-resolution music on Sonos is astounding, basically like a sound system makeover! I’m new to Roon and my sole reason for subscribing is that it allows me a way to listen to my high-resolution music library on Sonos. I rely upon support from premium services to simplify technology for me and allow me to enjoy high-resolution music. I am not a sophisticated user, average at best. I appreciate you adding to the discussion. I feel for those who enjoy music and not being able to do so, but Roon Tech are excellent when being able to recreate an issue to work out a work-around and alternatives. I’ve just re-enabled my Sonos Fives Sonos Streaming and have been playing something whilst playing something else’s on my headphone set up. Roon have provided the work-around and alternative use of Airplay. I’ll post it in a day or two as I’m still writing it. I plan to lay out why I feel I have had no (very minimal) issues and when I did it was not Roon but either me, ISP or network equipment. I’m about to create my own thread (off-topic) about my success with Roon/Roon Arc. My screenshots below show my current plugged in devices, I wonder if they match yours or anyone else. I can appreciate, Roon being the service we use daily, it can be easy to jump the gun on blame and asking for compensation. I’m completely stumped why so many have the issue, but for some it’s since Sonos last updated their products and not Roon. I’m very lucky as I am not experiencing the issue raised by the OP or the recreated issue by Roon tech support. I’ve tried restarting the WiFi routers, rebooting the NUC multiple times, disabling & re-enabling the zones in questions, as well as reinstalling the OS - all with no luck. Play:1 and Play:5 zones will stream other services via the Sonos app, and the Play:5 zone will play via Airplay when enabled.

All other zones appear to be working with Roon. When trying to play to those zones, Roon displays the “Roon lost control of the audio device” error message with no sound. Sonos Play:1 and Play:5 speakers have suddenly stopped working with Roon. IMac with Peachtree M24 speakers - WiFi Number of Tracks in LibraryĢ8,567 tracks in library.
